Week 7 EOC

It’s a guy’s night out at the hottest lounge in town; testosterone fills the room as you discuss sports, cars and business. You catch glances from across the room from the single ladies a couple tables away… but it’s a guy’s night. As the cocktail waitress makes her round you debate on a drink that says manly but satisfying, you want something that will entice your senses no frilly drinks just that certain something splashed in a chilled glass topping cool wet cubes of ice. You need a drink that will wet your mouth, calm your nerves and ease your mind for this masculine night where the ladies are only as close as you let your imagination take them. You need her close to you without letting your buddies know you need to breath her, feel her and taste her, you keep your cool, on the out side you are as hard as they want to see you, on the inside you are going insane. What you don’t know is what no one will say but when she makes her round you all decide on the same drink… Lavender infused vodka “Taste the sent of a woman.”

Week 6 EOC

Bad Product Ideas:
A rub on tanner that doesn’t wash off right away.
This would be a good idea so that it doesn’t need to be re applied every day, this would not be a good idea because most people don’t rub the tanner in enough leaving it blotchy and uneven on their skin. If they couldn’t wash it off they probably wouldn’t use the product again.
A solar powered T.V.
This would sound like a good idea to save energy and have a T.V. that runs strictly off sun light… until the sun goes down and the T.V. goes off. This also wouldn’t work in locations with little to no sun light.
A battery operated kitchen knife.
This sounds like it could be a good idea just like battery operated mixing devices which could make life easier for a baker. The down fall, most battery operated objects malfunction at some point or another and this could be a bloody disaster if it did.

Week 5 EOC

The Honda Civic has evolved itself in the past few years into any driver’s fuel efficient dream. Not only is the Civics exterior eye catching but the interior can stand up against any luxury vehicle. With prices starting at $15,655 you can’t go wrong when quality is combined with looks and affordability. With a Honda Civic the driver not only gets to customize their car to their liking but they are also getting a 4-cylinder engine, fuel-efficiency and a choice between 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. The grille enhances the cars performance as the windshield is designed to enhance aerodynamics. Honda Civic is the car for everyone to start driving!

Week 4 EOC

What is the difference between advertising and marketing?
According to Don Draiper in the series Mad Men, “advertising is happiness”, this may be true to those who advertise also some advertisements can make people happy if the message being sent out is something they can relate to. What I have learned is the most obvious difference between advertising and its components is that advertising is always paid for. Advertising consists of magazine ads, television and radio commercials and billboards which let the public know what your product is and that it is available. Marketing on the other hand consists of the actions which take place to create public awareness. Though advertising and marketing are separate entities they work together in order to achieve brand recognition. According to businessknowledgesource.com “Advertising is a single component of marketing. Advertising is the piece of marketing that involves spreading the word about your business and products. Advertising is considered the most expensive piece of marketing.” People often confuse advertising and marketing because they work so closely together, I believe the best way to think of it is that advertising is the act of mailing out coupons, placing ads in the magazines putting up the billboard and marketing is the process behind the advertising, it is the thought and the techniques used to implement the advertising. Marketing is the plan to promote your product in the most effective and efficient way.

Week 3 EOC

Should America have a strong or weak dollar? This is a question that does not have a simple answer. When times are great we want a strong dollar so we can import more foreign goods and a lower exchange rate, the down fall to this however is that we are spending more money on foreign goods rather than circulating the money into our own economy. Eventually after having a strong dollar for so long inflation will occur and our dollar will weaken. The weak dollar has its downfalls such as higher oil prices which in turn raise the price of fuel and we end up paying more for foreign goods. On the positive the weak dollar encourages us to spend more money in the U.S. and allows other countries to purchase more goods from America which will help our economy. Having a strong dollar or weak dollar both have their positive and negative attributes but once the dollar has been weak for so long I believe we long for it to be strong again. I say this because I have never heard anyone say during good economic times that they wish for a weak dollar yet in poor economic times we strive to be where we once were. In the end we want to be able to pump money throughout the nation to stimulate the economy and with a strong dollar that money is coming from the American people spending more of their hard earned cash and during a weak economy that money is coming from foreign countries purchasing our goods. I think it’s more fun for all of us when we are the ones being able to spend the money with a strong dollar, this also allows the money to be spent on shopping and restaurants which puts the money into the hands of the working middle class who can pay their bills and in turn go out and continue to spend.

Week 2 EOC

I had an experience with great customer satisfaction at Pure Beauty a store that sells makeup, hair and skin care as well as hair appliances. The sales lady was so helpful in showing me the product and introducing me to new products, she was friendly and complementary. I left satisfied and when I returned to the store she remembered me and the experience was just as satisfying. An experience I had with poor customer service was at a store called Francesca’s Collections. I walked in and the two sales women were standing at the register talking and refused to stop their conversation to greet me, they never acknowledged me in the store yet the customers who walked in after me were greeted and helped with tremendous service.
